Mullet in Mallorca28 July 2007
Lesley and her family enjoyed an interesting angling diversion while on a summer break in Mallorca. Sizeable mullet are present in the saltwater lake and canals of Alcudia and after some experimentation and a little help from a fellow Scottish visitor, it was discovered that these big silvery fish which look rather like grayling, could be caught on a specially prepared bread bait tied into the leader and wrapped over with 2 small trebles. While this would be considered very non purist at home, the method was the only one to work on the sun drenched Spanish island. Great fun was had by all and we are all now mullet converts!
