Grilse on the Forss29 August 2008
After virtually a week of struggling in low water Lesley eventually landed a fine August grilse from the River Forss on the Lazy Mediator fly size 12. The long summer months of no rain, bright weather and persistant SE winds have meant that though fish are in the river, very few are willing to take. Lesley puts down her success to a combination of gritty persistence and a willingness to try the lesser fished spots on this lovely Caithness river.
