Autumn Arrives!

05 September 2008

Early September fishing has seen little in the way of rain so far and anglers for both trout and salmon are finding it hard going. Watten aficianados have been going to the loch purely in the evening for the sedge hatch and even Loch Calder which has so far been fishing superbly well, has become difficult in the persisting sunshine, SE winds and low water levels. To add to the frustration salmon are massing in all the Caithness estuaries, the larger fish by in large unable to enter the local rivers in any number. - Such weather might be great for the tourists but we anglers are finding it very hard going!
