Lesley is happy to report some big trout from the Reay Lochs and Loch Watten but adds the caveat they were not caught by her! First up Dave Martin took a lovely 2lb 1oz fish from the Reay lochs on the Blitzen in cool early season April conditions with a nice southerly breeze. Then on Watten opening day Dave took another 1lb 8oz trout on a black weighted silver nymph however this was dwarfed by Doug Shanks and his two trout one close to 3lb and one close to 2lb, both caught fishing off the shore near Oldhall. Lesley in the meantime apart from her big Forss salmon, has only had a 4lb rainbow to her name caught at Markle resevoir near Edinburgh while guiding in late May for the Japanese Flyfishing Team over in Scotland for the upcoming World Flyfishing Championships. These Championships will be held at the Lake of Menteith and other challenging Scottish venues from 5th to 12th June 2009.
