September was a month of two halves with Lesley enjoying first some most unusual fishing on the Dalyan River, Dalyan near Dalaman in southern Turkey before fishng out the last of the trout season in Caithness. The Turkish fishing proved an unexpected bonus coutesy of the Kilim Hotel owners Emrah and Becky and Lesley spent a few happy hours fishing off the little piers on the beautiful Dalyan River. Returning to a much cooler Caithness Lesley finished her season with some style particularly on Watten where she managed to capture a 2.12oz trout on a sunk black and silver nymph. Watten closed on Sept 30th with a considerable number of big trout caught, some over 3lb. The big loch`s year was much better than 2008 and most anglers have been well pelased with their results. Calder and Reay Lochs closed 6th October, again with productive years especially July which saw fantastic mayfly hatches. Now attention is likely to turn to Loch Wester which remains open for its seatrout run til Oct 31st.
