Summer successes21 August 2010
The long hot days of summer never arrived in Caithness therefore our trout fishing remained at a constant peak. Mayfly hatched from late June and there are still a few about even by late August particulary on Loch Calder. Some very grand trout have come off the Reay Lochs this year up to 3lb+ and noted successes have also been caught from our newly installed DFFA boat. To use this boat you must be a DFFA member a small price to pay for top class trouting. Loch Watten has been fishing very well all season though the top end is now getting increasingly weedy. Toftingall has also surrendered some great bags and good sea trout have come off the Halladale in any spates.
